Please comment about your interpretation of this piece. I know what I intended to get across, but I want to know how other people perceive it.
Should I upload my other versions of this image?
Also, I'm not sure. Should this have a mature content warning? I got rid of the nipples the mannequin had.
And by popular request~ EDIT
Of course I couldn't complete this piece without Rachel painstakingly having snuck carefully out of her stage craft class on several occasions to sit encouragingly behind me while I worked, talking of puppies and rainbows and other such things. Thank you, Rachel, for your contribution. But no, I'm too lazy to put the nipples back. Besides, they'd distract people like you
I feel it saying something about the human race rejecting itself piece by piece for an idealistic, non-realistic view of beauty.
I feel that we focus so much on the parts that don't matter (torso, and what it implies) and so little on the parts that say so much about who we are, what we do and what we feel like (the eyes, the face, the hands and feet).
As a conceptual piece this speaks to me. My interpretation will probably differ drastically from yours, but thats whats so wonderful about conceptual work...
Thank you. I'm hoping to garner a few more comments on this piece, so I'm not going to mention whether or not your interpretation is on cue with my own or not, but thanks for your input.
I already added this piece to my fav's a few hours ago, I wanted to think about this one.
I would see this piece as an expression of our consumption society. In every magazine there are skinny woman with ideal sizes (according to the society). This piece shows the rejection of the society to somebody who doesn't fit in this image.
It's the image of the so called "perfect being" that lives inside the society. Anything else is rejected.
Thank you very much for posting this picture. I like the composition very much.
Also I would love to see the other version of the image. (give me a pm if you posted it).
I would say that no mature content warning is needed.
Thank you so much for your insight. I would gladly send a message your way if I post the other versions, but I'm still not sure if I will. I'm sorry it's been a while before I got back to you about this!
